Welcome to the Stamp It Group Easter Blog Hop!
You have probably arrived here from Gianna Sardella’s Blog. If not and I am your first stop, no worries. You can navigate by clicking on the bloggers’ names at the bottom of this post.
I have made a cute card for you today. I just love the little “Chick” in the Sale-A-Bration Honeycomb Happiness stamp set. I decided to dress him up as a bunny for Easter. Too cute, right?
So here he is all ready for the Easter!
I used Blushing Bride Cardstock as my base. Layered it with Mint Mint Macaron Cardstock and Birthday Bouquet Designer Series Paper. I stamped my chick twice. Once on the DSP and then once on Whisper White Cardstock, which I fussy cut out after adding color to him. I wanted this little guy to have dimension to him so, instead of coloring him in solid with markers, I used a round stamp from the Balloon Celebration Stamp set. I used Daffodil Delight Ink and stamped off once before stampin on my image. I colored in his beak with Tangelo Twist and fussy cut him out. I cut off his little legs on this piece and just colored the legs on the image I stamped on the DSP. I adhered him directly over the image I stamped on the DSP with Stampin’ Dimensionals. This made him pop off the card a bit.
I wanted him to look like he was dressing up for Easter so I used the Friends and Flowers stamp set to make him little ears. I stamped with Blushing Bride Ink on Blushing Bride Cardstock. I used the Festive Flower Builder Punch to punch the ears out. Every bunny needs a cute fluffy tail so, I punched out a few tiny flowers using the Tree Builder Punch. I layered these on top of each other using glue dots. My sentiment came from the Circle of Spring stamp set, this was stamped in Basic Black Archival Ink. I finished the card off with some of the absolutely gorgeous 1″ wide Watermelon Wonder Stitched Satin Ribbon.
This close up shows how, using the stamp to add color really gave him dimension and a more realistic look.
I hope you like this cute little guy. A complete list of supplies will be listed at the bottom of this post.
